BlockIt Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 16, 2026

This policy applies to the BlockIt browser extension and its built-in problem-report form.

1. How the extension works on pages

BlockIt processes open pages in the browser to find elements matching user-created rules and hide or remove them. To do this, the extension may read the page URL and domain, structure, element attributes, and text, including accessible iframe and Shadow DOM content.

Created and imported rules, including website domains, selectors, and matching conditions, are stored locally in extension storage. Temporary builder and diagnostic data may be stored in session storage. This data is not automatically sent to the developer. Rules can be removed in BlockIt; local extension data can also be deleted through browser controls.

2. Data sent with a support report

The form sends data only after the user submits it and explicitly agrees to this policy. A problem type and reply contact are required: an email address, Telegram username, or Telegram profile link. A written description is optional. The report also includes the extension version, where the form was opened from, and the page domain when available.

The Include technical details and Include full page URL checkboxes are selected by default, but can be cleared before submission. With technical details enabled, the form includes browser and operating-system information and a blockit-diagnostics.json file. Depending on where the form was opened, this file may contain saved rules with domains, selectors, and blocking modes, or the current rule and builder state. The full page URL is sent only if its checkbox remains selected. Technical details can be previewed in the form before submission.

Users may manually attach up to five PNG, JPEG, or WebP screenshots. Images, rules, and page URLs may contain personal or confidential information. Review the selected materials and turn off any details you do not want to share before sending.

3. Server and recipients

The report is sent over HTTPS to formacode.dev. The server receives standard HTTP connection information, including the IP address; the address is used to protect the service and limit submission frequency. Report text, reply contact, technical fields, and attachment names may be stored in the FormaCodeBot inquiry database. Attachments are not kept as permanent files on the server.

The report and selected attachments are forwarded to an administrative Telegram chat. If attachments total no more than 15 MiB, a copy with attachments may also be sent through the Resend email service to the developer; larger reports do not receive an email copy. Messages and attachments may remain in Telegram and the developer's mailbox. If the user chose Telegram as a reply contact, they may choose to continue the conversation with the bot.

4. Purposes and retention

Voluntarily submitted information is used to respond, reproduce and fix the reported problem, improve BlockIt, and protect the form from abuse. A person may review report materials only for these purposes or as required by law. Data is not sold, used for advertising or creditworthiness decisions, or shared with data brokers.

There is no single automatic deletion period for reports: records may remain in the inquiry database, administrative Telegram chat, and developer mailbox until deleted. To request deletion of a submitted report, email contact@formacode.dev and identify the contact used for submission.

5. Limited Use of Chrome data

Use of information received through Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only for user-facing BlockIt features and related support, diagnostics, and security.

6. Contact

For questions about data processing, a submitted report, or its deletion, email contact@formacode.dev.
